Competitors are required to perform a Power Hand Break breaking technique.
- A power hand break consists of breaking a stack of boards using an accepted Taekwondo
hand technique.
● Boards must be purchased at the tournament. Under no circumstances may competitors bring their own boards.

Rules for Breaking:
- Competitors may not use a head strike for breaking.
● Competitors must use at least the minimum number of boards as defined by their age.
● Competitors and helpers will clean up all boards, broken boards and wood fragments.
● Breaking stands will be provided on the mat.
Scoring:
- One point will be awarded for each board broken. No points will be awarded if the boards do not break
on the first attempt (no 2nd try allowed).
- Breaking more than the minimum number of boards required for your age group will result in a higher
score.
Tie-breaker Criteria:
In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined based on the following priority:
- Technique Difficulty: Higher points for harder techniques.
(Ranking: Fist > Knife Hand > Hammer Fist > Palm Strike)
- Presentation: If the technique difficulty is also the same, the winner will be chosen based on Taekwondo skills, focus, and presentation.
Awards:
Gold, Silver, and two (2) Bronze medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each division.
